This means, every voter in the county will receive a new voter information card. However, the Florida House of Representative district number changed from 24 to 19. We are fortunate to have single districts for state senator, state representative and US Congress. In Flagler County, our district boundaries did not change.
Districts must have nearly equal populations and must not discriminate on the basis of race or ethnicity. District lines are redrawn every 10 years following completion of the United States census. The Legislature will reconvene for a special session this month to redraw the map for US Congressional districts, however, it is unlikely that our Congressional district will change during this process. Districts determine which voters participate in which elections. Using the data from the 2020 census, the Florida Legislature has completed the final district boundaries for State Senators and State House of Representatives.
